We are aware that although a physician's experience is vital, their educational development is also important. Our director is undoubtedly one of the most experienced laparoscopic surgeons in Costa Rica and is considered to be one of the pioneers of advanced surgery.

Dr. Esmeral has worked under some of the most renowned doctors in Latin America and Europe (working under the direction of Dr. Carlos Ballesta at the Teknon Clinic in Barcelona, Spain, working at the Bariatric Surgery Center in Cali, Columbia, and working at the Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence in Corrientes, Argentina) and has practiced over 5 thousand successful surgeries.
